About the Founder
Alexander J. Kabiri, O.D.
International Speaker • Clinician • Educator
Former Adjunct Clinical Faculty, SUNY College of Optometry
Dr. Kabiri created myODCE to bridge the gap between scientific understanding, clinical application, and real-world patient care. Through engaging, evidence-informed education, myODCE seeks to cultivate independent thinkers capable of delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Drawing from years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and international speaking engagements, Dr. Kabiri's programs emphasize practical application, systems thinking, and the restoration of clinical curiosity. His educational philosophy centers on empowering clinicians not simply to earn continuing education credits, but to think differently, ask better questions, and deliver better care.

Clinical Tools
Ocular Perfusion Pressure Calculator
An educational illustration tool for estimating ocular perfusion pressure using intraocular pressure and systemic blood pressure measurements.
Intraocular Pressure (IOP) — mmHg
Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) — mmHg
Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) — mmHg
Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP): mmHg
Estimated Ocular Perfusion Pressure (OPP): mmHg
Educational Note: Ocular perfusion pressure represents only one component of a complex glaucomatous disease process and should be interpreted within the broader context of each patient's clinical presentation.
About This Calculator
The Ocular Perfusion Pressure (OPP) Calculator is provided solely as an educational resource. It generates a simplified estimate of ocular perfusion pressure and may help illustrate situations in which relative hypoperfusion has been proposed as a potential risk factor for the onset or progression of glaucoma.
The calculator is not intended to diagnose disease, predict outcomes, or serve as the sole basis for initiating, modifying, or withholding treatment. Clinical decisions regarding IOP management, systemic blood pressure management, or any therapeutic intervention must be based upon a comprehensive evaluation of the individual patient.
This calculator does not account for all physiologic variables that may influence optic nerve perfusion, including trans-laminar pressure difference. For reference, an alternative research formula described in the literature is: OPP = [DBP + 1/3(SBP − DBP)] − 2(IOP) + CSFP. Because CSFP is not typically available in routine clinical settings, this formula is not incorporated into the myODCE OPP Calculator.
Liability Statement
This calculator is intended exclusively for educational illustration. The author makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or clinical applicability of the information generated. The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any decisions, diagnoses, treatments, or outcomes arising from the use of this calculator. Clinicians must exercise independent professional judgment and adhere to established clinical guidelines, standards of care, and individual patient circumstances when making diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
